Georgia Hearing Aid Loaner Bank
The Auditory Verbal Center hosts the Georgia Hearing Aid Loaner Bank (HALB) provided by the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) program.
The purpose of this program is to provide temporary hearing aid(s) for children with hearing loss through the age of 36 months while they are waiting to receive their own personal amplification devices. We understand that getting new hearing aids can be a financial burden for many families, but it’s also necessary to promote language and communication development as a part of early intervention. Using the HALB can assist in avoiding delays in fitting amplification and to give parents time to secure financing for their child’s personal amplification. The HALB can also be useful for families who have decided to pursue Cochlear Implants for their child, as it helps families avoid purchasing hearing aids that won’t be needed for long-term. The hearing aid(s) are loaned for 6 months on a one-time basis per child. The loan includes up to two earmolds per hearing aid. The loaner hearing aid(s) are provided at no cost to the family. Have your Audiologist call TODAY to complete the application and order loaner aids for your client. Upon approval by the District EHDI Coordinator, the hearing aids will be shipped to the requesting Audiologist! Debbie Brilling Executive Director/CEO (404) 633-8911 [email protected] |
