Hearing loss is one of the most under-diagnosed disabling conditions in the nation. For this reason, many states, including Georgia, have implemented a mandatory Universal Newborn Hearing Screening to assist in identifying hearing loss as early as possible. For adults, hearing loss can be detected early if the individual gets regular hearing screenings.
